Teaching
Sarah Olson began teaching in 2004 and has taught at Lou Conte Dance Studio (home of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago), Joffrey Academy of Dance in Chicago, the University of Iowa, West Virginia Governor’s School for the Arts, Visceral Dance Center, as Ballet Mistress for Chicago Repertory Ballet, and for the Youth Program of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.

Teaching Philosophy
My goal in teaching is to cultivate the inherent artist and intelligent problem-solver that lies within every student. To sustain the lifelong practice of a dance artist, one must be open to continual discovery and integration of new information, as my own experience can affirm. To support this internal and ongoing process of discovery, I ground my classes in clear movement principles, prioritize healthy body mechanics and balanced pacing, utilize a variety of teaching modalities, and cultivate an open and investigatory learning environment.
